Port Barcarès is a magnificent lakeside town divided into four distinct areas.
There is the traditional fishermen's village with its quaint little streets, palm trees and main square where you will often find the locals getting together around a game of pétanque.
Then there is the port where you can enjoy the view of old fishing boats and modern yachts. Water jousting takes place in Sète every year on 15th August.
The salt lake is 7,000 hectares of water dedicated to water sports and other leisure activities.
And lastly, the main beach where visitors can find a host of leisure and pleasure amenities based around the Lydia, the 'steamer on the sand'.
Activities and entertainment at the resort:
Five miles of clean, supervised and safe beach. For more energetic visitors, a range of things to do: sailing (sailing dinghies, catamarans), diving, water skiing, tennis, mountain biking, hiking and horse riding.
For children: beach club, kindergarten, crèche, sports and leisure activities in July and August.
